Yakutat has one of the healthiest fisheries in all of Southeast Alaska! It provides the perfect blend of fresh and salt water with a variety of trout, salmon, halibut, rockfish, ling cod, and more!
Freshwater fishing in Yakutat is particularly special because of the Situk River. The Situk River is famous for hosting Alaska’s largest wild steelhead trout population but it also has a very healthy sockeye and coho population. Our guests can enjoy a 14 mile guided drift boat ride down the Situk and truly be surrounded by Alaska’s rugged nature as well as have the fishing adventure of a lifetime.
Primarily we target Halibut, and that's because the fishery is SO healthy! We have a fish weight average that is about 3 times the state’s average. We fish from 30 feet to 300 feet and catch halibut of all sizes at those depths. A lot of it will be in 100 feet or less. While hunting halibut, we’ll catch Ling Cod, and a variety of Rockfish; to give you a true taste of Alaska.
